The year of 2018 has just begun, but this year is already looking very promising in the film industry. From action and adventure to comedy, this year is not one to miss!

-Black Panther: 02/16/18

Featured in the movie ‘Captain America: Civil War,” audiences around the world get to see into the world of Black Panther (Chadwick Bosman). After the death of his father, Prince T’Challa returns home to his African home and nation,Wakanda, to take his rightful place as king. When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T’Challa’s resolve as king and as Black Panther gets tested when he’s drawn into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people.

-Maze Runner: The Death Cure: 01/26/18

Following the storyline of previous movies, the third and final sequel of The Maze Runner is not one to disappoint. Young hero,Thomas (Dylan O’ Brien) leads escaped Gladers (including Thomas Brodie Sangster, Ki Hong Lee, and many others) on their final and most dangerous mission yet. To save their friends, they must break into the remarkable Last City, a WCKD-controlled labyrinth that may turn out to be the deadliest maze of all. Anyone who makes it out alive will get answers to the questions that the Gladers have been asking since they arrived in the maze including the solution and cure to the Flare, a disease that is wiping out the population With a delay in production and the release date, this movie has been widely anticipated for quite a while and is already climbing the charts!

-Pacific Rim: Uprising: 03/28/18

Also an anticipated sequel, Pacific Rim follows the story of Jake Pentecost (John Boyega), a once-promising Jaeger pilot whose father gave his life to protect humanity against the monstrous Kaiju. Jake abandons his training only to become caught up in a criminal underworld. But when an even more unstoppable threat is unleashed to tear through cities and bring the world to its knees, Jake is given one last chance by his estranged sister, Mako Mori (Rinko Kikuchi), to live up to his father’s legacy.

-Jurassic World:Fallen Kingdom: 06/22/18

Following the highly acclaimed movie series, Fallen Kingdom takes place four years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park. Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) return to the island of Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcano that’s about to erupt. They encounter terrifying new breeds of gigantic dines throughout the movie while uncovering a conspiracy that threatens the entire planet.

-Solo: A Star Wars Story: 05/25/18

A prequel to the beloved movie series everyone knows, audiences around the world are given insight as to how Han Solo (Aiden Ehrenreich) met his future copilot, Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), through a series of escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld. They journey through galaxies far, far away in the famous Millennium Falcon that eventually makes the path for one of Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes. This movie is going to be a pleasant blast from the past for fans and will bring more screenplay of beloved characters as well as guest stars like Woody Harrelson and Emilia Clarke.

-Incredibles 2: 06/15/18

Incredibles 2 takes place immediately after the first film, the end of which introduces The Underminer (John Ratzenberger). The incredibly gifted Parr family struggles to maintain normal lives while Helen (Holly Hunter), also known as Elastigirl, is out fighting crime. Meanwhile, her husband Bob (Craig T. Nelson), also known as Mr. Incredible, remains at home watching their children Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dash (Huck Milner), and Jack-Jack who is discovering his secret powers. However, they, along with Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson), and a new superhero  will have to battle a new villain with a mysterious background. The Disney fan community has high hopes for this movie and are counting down the days until it is released!

 

-Game night 02/23/18

This hilarious and thrilling movie follows the lives of a suburban couple, Max (Jason Bateman) and Annie (Rachel McAdams) as they host weekly game nights with friends and family. However, a night filled with laughs and competition gets kicked up a notch when Max’s brother, Brooks (Kyle Chandler), arranges a murder mystery party, complete with fake thugs and federal agents. When Brooks gets kidnapped, it’s all supposed to be part of the game. As the teams set out to solve the case, they realize that neither the game nor Brooks are what they seem to be. The friends soon find themselves in over their heads as each twist leads to another unexpected turn over the course of one chaotic night.

-Tomb Raider: 03/16/18

Following a series, Lara Croft (Alicia Vikander) is the fiercely independent daughter of an eccentric adventurer who vanished years earlier. Hoping to solve the mystery of her father’s disappearance, Croft embarks on a perilous journey to his last-known destination- a tomb on a mythical island that seems to be somewhere off the coast of Japan. The stakes couldn’t be higher as Lara must rely on her sharp mind, blind faith and stubborn spirit to venture into the unknown.

-Peter Rabbit: 02/9/18

Based off of a very popular children’s book, a beloved character takes on a contemporary comedy with attitude which is expected to  be a refreshing flash into the past while still adding a little twist on a delightful story. Peter Rabbit’s (voiced by James Corden) feud with his next door neighbor, Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson), escalates to greater heights than ever before as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover neighbor (Rose Byrne). Guest appearances including Margot Robbie and Daisy Ridley make Peter Rabbit a film not to miss this year!

-Alpha: 03/2/18

Set 20,000 years in the past during the last Ice Age, an epic adventure takes place with a young man injured and left for dead by his tribe’s most elite group.Finding himself broken and isolated, he must learn to survive and navigate through the harsh and unforgiving wilderness. Along his journey, he finds a lone wolf abandoned by its pack, tames it, and unexpectedly become allies while enduring countless dangers to find their way home before the deadly winter arrives.

 

-Avengers: Infinity War: 05/4/18

Infinity War is going to be the 19th installment in the long and fruitful run of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This film has all of the great, well structured characters that have been a part of movie going experiences for almost 10 years and counting. Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet-the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. -Rampage: 04/20/18

 Based on a classic 1980’s video game, Rampage stars primatologist Davis Okoye (Dwayne Johnson) who shares an unshakable bond with George, an extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla that’s been in his care since birth. When a genetic experiment goes wrong, causing George, a wolf and a reptile, to grow to a monstrous size, Okoye must team up with a discredited engineer and the military to secure an antidote and prevent a global catastrophe.As the mutated beasts embark on a path of destruction, the primatologist is the only one who can save humanity.
