Ms. Freedman is a Spanish teacher here at Weiss High School and has been teaching for twenty-five years. She is a multilingual artist, has traveled the world, and also considers herself a creative person. She started teaching fourth graders and moved overseas to teach private elementary, middle, and high schools in Brazil. She then discovered that she enjoyed working with teenagers because they were “sassy, funny, energetic, and had abstract thinking.” Ms. Freedman explains how she challenges to do reading, writing, listening and speaking activities as her methods of teaching. To provide support for her students she tries giving them a private student conference and tries to find the underlying factors for why the student isn’t performing as well as they should. She then offers tutoring sessions and gives them one-on-one support.
